Hey lovely #StreamManager Users,
In this News I would like to talk about a new and planned extrem cool feature with you, which is soon aviable in one of the newer Versions. Please give me some Feedback in the Comments (below this News) or over K.A.E.F.I. Thanks!
But first things first…
What means GDS?
GDS stands for „Game Detection Service“ and describes a #StreamManager Service which should help you to change your currently played game with ease.
How does this work?
The „GDS“ checks in regular intervals (similar like Discord or other Software with a similar Service) if a known Process is running on your Machine. To make it easier to understand, I’ll give you an example:
- You’ve activated the GDS Settings (optional) on the Settings screen.
- You’re starting the game „World of Warcraft“.
- GDS detects on its check that „WoW.exe“ is now running.
- Your currently played Game gets changed to „World of Warcraft“.
You’re no longer wasting your time with changing your currently played Game instead of doing what you like: Playing!
What if the Game is not getting detected?
We would like to do this stuff without any external Database and thats why we’re depending on your helpful hands. If a Game is not getting detected, please report this to us. We would like to add it to our List asap.* 🙂
And this is truly optional?
Of course! Like any other Function of the #StreamManager, this is a truly optional one and you can disable it whenever you want. We don’t want to use any external Database or Service so that’s why we’ve to build the „Supported-Games“-List on our own. It would be great if you want to help us growing the support. 😉
When I can try this out?
The GDS will be aviable with one of the upcoming Updates and is preliminary aviable for Twitch.tv and later for beam.pro. Just be surprised and check your settings after updating. 😉
Cool. Then we hope to get some great feedback as soon as this feature has found its way to your #StreamManager. We’ll let you know when it’s time. We could not help it. 😀
* Games like (for example) Browsergames are not supported because they don’t run (generally) as a own Process. Only Games that are running local on your Computer are supported.
